The Rios Nete Clinic is located in the Upper Peruvian Amazon, a 45 minute drive from Tarapoto, the "City of Palms," which is accessible on numerous daily flights from Lima. Clinic facilities will be built on the uphill portion of 25 acres of land overlooking the Huapo valley, which features a primary forest and agricultural areas.

This region, called San Martin, is a healing and rejuvenating place in itself. Dubbed "the land of the waterfalls," this tropical area features the renown Aguashiyau, Huacamaillo, and Tunutunumba waterfalls, numerous lakes and lagoons, grape growing districts, and orchid conservatories.

The development of medicinal plant gardens is already underway at Rios Nete, with construction of the clinic set to begin in mid-2015 The center will be dedicated to treating patients with chronic illnesses, and will periodically conduct clinical trials to weigh the efficacy of Amazonian medicine against conventional standards of treatment.
